Volumetric Analyses and Microwave Digestion Systems
Microwave digestion is a common technique used to take metals into solution phase in organic molecules before analysis with ICP-OES and ICP-MS measurements.
This process is achieved by exposing the sample to a strong acid and / or acid mixture in a closed container resistant to pressure and heat, and increasing the pressure and temperature over microwave radiation. Metal content can be analyzed in ICP-OES and / or ICP-MS after this process.
